Overview
Payout Decoder ("the app", "we") helps Shopify store owners understand their Shopify Payments payouts. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
What we access
When you install the app, with your permission we access:
- Shopify Payments payouts and balance transactions — deposit amounts, fees, refunds, chargebacks, and dates, used to decode your payouts.
- Orders — order identifiers and totals, used only to link fees to the orders they came from and to show tax figures. We do not store customer names, emails, or addresses.
- Your store domain and the email address you choose for deposit alert emails.
How we use it
- To display your payouts, deposits, profit, and tax figures inside the app.
- To generate reports and CSV exports you request.
- To send deposit alert emails, only if you turn that feature on.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it for any purpose other than providing the app's features.
Where it's stored
Data is stored securely in a hosted PostgreSQL database (on Render) and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Deposit alert emails are sent via Resend.
Data retention and deletion
- You can remove all your data at any time by uninstalling the app, or by requesting deletion via Shopify's data-request process.
- We honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:
customers/data_request,customers/redact, andshop/redact. On a shop-redact request, all of your store's data is permanently deleted.
